The BIOS year started well in February with the annual Bernard Edmonds Research Conference, held in the splendid surroundings of the Barber Institute at Birmingham University. There was, as always, a wide range of interesting papers with some good questions and useful discussion following on from them. For whatever reason, there was a particularly good turnout this year. May I thank members and their guests who came to support us. This is an event which, in an impressive and very public way, demonstrates BIOS at work in fulfilling the core first objective of our stated aims: To promote objective, scholarly research into the history of the organ and its music in all its aspects, and, in particular, into the organ and its music in Britain…
