Nominations for listing can be made by any person with sufficient knowledge of the instrument.

We encourage nominations and applications to be made using our downloadable form. A copy of the form can be viewed in your browser here.

Instructions

Please open a copy of the form and then download and open a local copy on your computer. (Please note : this requires you to download rather than work in internet webmail).

Once downloaded, please open the PDF form in Adobe Acrobat Reader which is quite possibly already installed on your machine. If not, it is freely available from this link https://get.adobe.com/uk/reader/. You can then proceed to complete the form in one session or saving your progress if you need to.

Please refer to the explanatory notes at the foot of the form to assist with completion. You may also wish to display a sample application form to assist you. Each form section will expand to allow continuing text entry with a scroll bar becoming visible to its right side when text entry exceeds box size. Please note that all fields must be filled in before proceeding to send.

When you are happy with your application, click on the 'Send to BIOS' icon bottom left of the form which will take a few seconds to compile your submission into an email within your default email programme. You should then see a message ready to send with your completed form attached. At this point you can also attach images that you wish to accompany your submission.

Finally, send your message in the usual manner! A copy of your submission will be emailed back to your for reference. (Note: The same downloaded form can be overtyped and used for multiple submissions, one at a time.

Listing Decision Appeals
A listing decision appeal will normally involve an inspection (typically by a committee member plus an independent organ builder) and a charge will be made to cover the costs. However no charge will be made if the applicant is content to accept a decision without an inspection and on on the basis of further representations by the applicant.
