BIOS’s programme for 2024 got off to a good start with the conference at Peterhouse, Cambridge on 16 March when approximately fifty members of
BIOS, the IBO, and CAOS (Cambridge Academy of Organ Studies) met to hear, and hear about the 1765 Snetzler organ reconstructed by a joint team
from Flentrop (Zaandam) and Klais (Bonn). The meeting is reviewed later in this issue of the Reporter, but I would like to express my personal thanks to
all those who took part including the players and speakers (Anne Page, Andrew Reid, Anna Steppler and Paul Tindall) and our Meetings Officer, Richard
Hobson, who oversaw the arrangements. We were also very grateful to Peterhouse for waiving the usual facility fees. The only slight disappointment
was the lack of interest on the part of organ students to whom we offered free entry (and lunch!), but that is a bigger issue which – as I observed in the
last Reporter – we need to tackle in the future.
