I started my column in the August edition of the Reporter with an appeal for the donation of a copy of the ‘missing’ volume (1985:4) in the archive collection we hold at the Cadbury Research Library. Thanks to the good memory of Paul Tindall and a few other longstanding members of BIOS we have now been enlightened that there is in fact no missing volume: 1985:4 apparently never appeared! As Paul kindly pointed out to us, the following edition (1986: 1) contains an apology for the non-appearance of its predecessor. To save the same question being asked again at some point in the future the Cadbury Research Library has inserted a note to that effect, positioned on the shelves in the appropriate space between the last publication of 1985 and the first of 1986. Case closed!
