After two years of restrictions of varying severity, how encouraging it is to witness the seeds of life gradually retuning towards normal (if not yet quite there). By the time Members read this edition of BIOS Reporter our Council will have held its first ‘live’ meeting since January 2020: also, within these pages you will see that we are planning to hold a ‘real’ AGM in London this year, the first time that we will have been able to meet together since the Bemard Edmonds Research Conference held in Birmingham on 29 February 2020. Some will recall that on that occasion our Italian member Professor Mattheo Malagoli was at the last minute prevented from travelling here by the closedown of areas of Italy, plus the uncertainty as to whether, if he did manage to get here, he would be able to get back. Luckily, he was able to send his lecture and its accompanying Powerpoint presentation to us by email so that it could be read out on the day. Little did any of us guess on that occasion what we would all be in for just three Saturdays later.
