It was only as the last issue of the Reporter was going to press that we learned of the death of our Honorary President, Professor Peter Williams. Fortunately, just in time, our Editor Gordon Curtis was able to include a formal announcement alerting our members to this sad news. Since then there have been many obituaries and tributes in newspapers, magazines and publications related to the world of organs and church music. Our own formal tribute to Peter Williams, and recognition of the distinguished contribution he made to BIOS in his capacity first as Chairman and later as Honorary President, will be published in this year’s Journal, to be issued later this summer. In the meantime, members will be pleased to know that BIOS was well represented at Peter’s funeral and also, as described above in the account written for us by Melvin Hughes and Katharine Pardee, at the very fitting Memorial Evensong at Gloucester Cathedral on 13th May…
