New Historic Organ Listings – June 2025

The June meeting of the BIOS Council approved five new Historic Organ Listings.

Morville, St Gregory, c 1855 Holdich [N04753]:ย Grade II

An organ by Holdich from c 1855 that contains historic pipework and includes a rare, intact example of a Holdich Diaocton.

Grade, Cornwall, St Grada & Holy Cross, 1885 Brewer & Co [D00797]: Grade I

A very rare surviving one-manual and pedal organ from 1885 by Brewer & Co of Truro. It is beautifully voiced and robustly constructed and remains in original condition in the building for which it was commissioned.

Wolverhampton, St Peter & St Paul, 1828 George Parson [E01381]: Grade II*

A rare example of a George Parsons organ of 1828, largely intact and thought to be the most complete surviving example of his work.

Walsall, St Andrew, 1889 Nicholson & Lord [H00210]: Grade II*

A significantly preserved example from the formative years of the Nicholson & Lord partnership, dating from 1889.

Warleggan, St Bartholomew, 1920 Heard & Sons [N12686]: Grade II

A representative example from 1920 of the later output of Heard & Sons of Truro, a regional firm that was active in the early decades of the 20th century. It remains unaltered in its original home and is listed in the War Memorials Register as the โ€˜Peace and Victory Organโ€™.
