Summer Administration

Two administrative tasks are presently happening or are about to. The first is a refresh of the permissions we have from each member to store their contact details in our database. These are kept private and used only in accordance with our Privacy Policy, a link to which is at the foot of each of the web pages.

Another permission is only relevant to those who are UK tax payers and wish to allow BIOS to recover the income tax paid on their subscriptions and any donations they make. This is the ‘Gift Aid’ scheme. It cannot be authorised if you already use your subscription payment as an offset against professional taxable income.

The second administrative task is the unfortunate process of reviewing subscriptions that fell due in January and which still have not been paid. Under section 3.2.4 of our Constitution, any member failing to pay their subscription on or before 1 August automatically ceases to be a member of BIOS. Of course that removal can be reversed upon payment of the 2026 subscription and any other arrears there may be. We obviously hope the 16 people presently in that group take steps to remain members.
